EviLyn commenting on: Sky of Love

Watched this last Sunday (for free) and expectedly, lao niang is cry and cry and cry till my eyes orh bak kak. Damn I look soooo ugly when I cry. @$%#^*&

Plot: Rather cliché I say. The usual: guy gets sick, guy dump girl w/o telling her the truth, girl gets upset, girl gets new and perfect beau, girl realise the truth, girl goes back to guy. Period. The first 1 hour was BORING~ like hell, climax was not until the last ½ and hour or so.

Cast: Erm, none of them I could recognise. Acting was natural enough to not make me roll my eyes. Couple of taiwanese stars look-alike. People like Rainie Yang. Actress was pretty enough, but seemingly too tua jiat (big size) for her role. The leading actor (the one above with bleached hair) look like a metamorphosis of the following dudes:

Hideaki Takizawa from Japan

Julian Yang from Taiwan

Overall: Scores 5 / 10. My assumption is that the director simply focused his attention on the last quarter of the movie and smoked through the first three. Certain scenes were not narrated in detail which I thought were important. Yes I know it's tough to bring all details from 2 novels to a 2 hours movie, but that doesn't give him a reason to haste the movie across. Leaving viewers not having the feeling and approval of the couple's unconditional love for each other. Instead, it looked like the many scenarios were filmed for the sake of filming cuz it was part of the novel. Wait for the DVD if you can. I'd rather watch this at home accompanied by my tissue box.
