EviLyn commenting on "Hellboy II - The Golden Army"

Treat for daddy. Brought him to watch this couple of days back.

After an ancient truce existing between humankind and the invisible realm of the fantastic is broken, hell on Earth is ready to erupt. A ruthless leader who treads the world above and the one below defies his bloodline and awakens an unstoppable army of creatures. Now, it's up to the planet's toughest, roughest superhero to battle the merciless dictator and his marauders. He may be red. He may be horned. He may be misunderstood. But when you need the job done right, it's time to call in Hellboy.

To sum it up, have got only one word - Majestic.

The latter was injected with far more visual effect than the first attempt. More humour too. While EviLyn is a typical no-no for action-pack movies, Hellboy's got me enticed with some of its lame humour (the part where he actually used an enormous buffer to buff his horns from growing) and hence, my willingness for it's sequel. Kinda reminded me of "The never-ending story".

If you're adventurous enough, then you ought to watch this. Many villians. Many creatures; funny ones, gross ones, odd one, ugly ones, name it. Ok, they are mostly funny. Which explains my opinion of the movie being funny.

Plenty of manificent fighting scenes. And I meant MANIFICENT. Was jaw dropping the whole damn time.

All time favourite character of mine- Abe Sapiens. Simply love seeing him swim, glide and mind his own business cross his water tank.

Tooth fairy!!!! Cute name it's got, ain't it? WRONG! This thingy is TOTALLY vicious. Name fits their carnivorous behaviour to a perfect T. (Not gonna be a spoiler, go watch and find it our yourself)

The source I've gotten this from, mentioned that this, Angel of Death, is a villian. Villian meh? It (cuz I dunno this wacko is a male of female) didn't do anything leh. In fact I think it looks damn cool. Me like. Gonna make this my office's wallpaper. Hiak hiak hiak.

I fell, I'm black and I lurve animated pandas

I know these had taken forever, so here you go.

I fell

Some 2 weeks back during my blading session with Kym, I got into a "car-accident". This blardy ang moh kid was speeding on his 4 wheels and came knocking hard on the back of my hips.

So there I flew, half a meter away from the ground and landed on my butt, which actually caused more harm to my already injured tailbone. So, am pretty much resting to avoid anymore disasters.

Was shocked to see I got cut from dunno which of the bicycle's parts. KNNBCCB...

To make things even better, it rained cats and dogs shortly after my fall. Felt those pitter pattering and quickly took shelter under some tentage. Man! Can you imagine how heavy the rain was? The field was flooded, thunders were excrutiating loud, we were semi wet even thought we were sheltered.

Kym's gloomy face. I didn't ask her to gimme this expression k, she really felt pissed with the falling cats and dogs. And trust me, the sinister rain looked absolutely nothing like those shown in the photo.

I'm black

In fact, we were.

If monday is blue, then tuesday must be black. Because....

Nanhui and Gretel: Wore black

Frances: Black also

Me: Black

Chris: Black too

Julie: Still black

Cindy: Also black

Joanne: Black!!!

Seemingly looked like all the chinese OLs wore the same color unanimously. I wonder if we were protesting anything subconsciously. Hmmm.

I lurve animated pandas

Po (name of panda) is totally Jack black. That's all I can say. And Jack Black must have been a panda his previous life.

If I happen to know any of the producers or agents for the mandarin vocalist, I'll definitely recommanded Naipa to dub the voice of Po.

Kung Fu Panda is literally produced for you leh, Naipa. Go watch! Your debut movie!

People are saying Jinxed resembles Po the dragon panda warrior because of this picture...

Emm, Pre-quel...still.

Alamak, I got so many things accumulated to blog about I think I can die.

Been watching some crappy movies I can't be bothered to share with anybody at all. But this, THIS is worth sharing.

What happens in vegas is definitely the funniest love comedy I've come across. Next to legally blonde 1 & 2 I suppose. Darn movie got me laughing throughout the entire 98 mins I had to chiong to the ladies straight after.

Berlardy J was exclaming I got bladder problems for I visited the loo for more than 3 times in I dunno, probably an hour? Maybe lesser.

Now people, go watch this if you haven't cuz it's really worth the 10/10.5/11/25 bucks.

Ok, maybe not 25 bucks.

Seeing my falsies grow are some immaculate joy. The last time I blogged I had a total of a good 40 pairs and guess what?

Yup, smart. It increased. But just how many more have I gotten again this time round?

2 pairs?

3 pairs? 5 pairs?

Nah...

They increased by another 30 pairs and are still on the count I tell you. Whooohooo! I offically own a lashbar. 70 pairs of false eyelashes I doubt I'd would finish them all cuz it'll just keep multiplying. Like amoeba!

Wait, are they called amoeba? Norrr, those thingy that reproduces itself, from 1 split into 2, then from 2 split into 4...kinda square roots itself that thing leh...

Aiya, nehmind lah.

*Loony hops*

And oh, the recent bought ones are of sibey good quality.

Updates soon ok? Erm, after I finish watching my "The young warriors" okies? Was watching it last night and kao ga beh si beh wa.. (Translate from hokkien: Cry untill I dunno like what)

Till then, tarah!

EviLyn commenting on: Evangelion:1.0

Read synopsis here

The plot is almost 100% identical to those of anime I should say. Brutal and all. Literally a cut and paste, with some bit of sophisticated editing. Rather, this is a concised of the anime's chapter 1. While some reviewed saying that this movie was made better by removing some unnecessary part, I say the removal was a total wrong decision.

Honestly, the remake of Evangelion (to a movie) was both abrupt and surprising - the anime featured a whole load of Shinji and Rei's turmoil. Which requires plentiful of detailed narrations. It's the core of the entire anime. We all knew, making this into a movie depicts the deplete of it's originality which breaks my heart to even think of it.

The character's personality wasn't that much elaborated. Focusing only on the process of the battles. It's gonna get real boring seeing evangelion fighting angels all the damn time you know?

Visuals: That's the key selling point (or unique selling point, we say) of remaking an anime isn't it? Else why would anyone wants to watch an anime-made movie?

Direction: Moving, inevitably. However, removal of those many scenes resulted the movie to not correspond the sub title - You are not alone. The ending suggested more episodes to come. Whether it will be screened in Singapore, let's cross our fingers.

Overall: Watch if you are interested. Not a bad idea to spend your 90 mins if you've got nothing to do but roaming about along the busy streets.

If you were to ask me if I'll watch the 2nd evangelion movie, I say I'll contemplate. Would rather go watch the anime all over again, but somehow the idea of it's movie seems to attract me spend and watch their craps. Wonder why. I must have been possessed by one of the angels.

EviLyn commenting on: An Empress and the Warriors

Set in ancient China before its unification, during which countless kingdoms batter for supremacy. YEN FEIER (played by Kelly Chan) is thrust onto the throne when her father is killed in battle. Feier and her loyal MUYONG XUEHU (played by Donnie Yen) unite to defend the kingdom. But her ambitious cousin Wu Ba (played by Guo Xiao-dong) sends assassins to kill her. A mysterious man Duan Lan-Quan (played by Leon Lai) saves her. Feier falls in love with Duan who offers her another life. With the fate of her kingdom in the balance, Feier must choose between her duty and her dreams...

Plot: I don't think I'm bias at all. Uh uh. Watching the entire movie itself was amazing enough for a I-don't-like-swords-and-clingclank me. If you are all prepared for the fighting scenes, don't bother. There are only 2 pathetic scenes featuring the showdown. And trust me, those scenes ended like POOOFT! fast. Snap snap and its done. And the part where arrows could be pierced through the armour yet a bloody knife couldn't aggravates me BIG BIG time. No logic leh, director/producer/scriptwriter/whosoever.

Run time of the movie was like 105 mins (oh, GV states 95 mins) if I hadn't remembered wrongly. Problem is, I concluded the entire 105 mins without knowing what exactly is the objective of the movie.

I really think Donnie Yen's talent was wasted. Mr Director ah,
you could've invited someone cheaper for his role you know...

Acting: I only like Donnie Yen's. Guess the reason why I managed to complete the movie must be because of him. Infinitely. Only to heave a bigger sigh. Fan-seee of Donnie Yen (Why Yen ah? Thought his surname is Zhen??) please don't pin to much hopes for his fighting scenes. Kelly Chan looks stupid as a martial pugilist. Leon Lai looks retarded. Period.

Visuals: Ok, I know I sound bimbotic. The more I anticipated Kelly Chan (Yan Fei-er) appear in the all so princessy costumes, the more dissapoinment I've gathered. She's tall, stylish, pretty and I've got nothing against her. BUT WHY? WHY IS SHE SO ABSOLUTELY UNKEMPT in the movie??? I know lah, she's supposed to fight and lead the war blah blah blah, but can make her prettier not?? Those close up (horribly horribly ugly) and slow motioned expressions of her falling off from the horse - total turn off.

Empress, princess, whatever. Don't even think of her looking or dressing like one in the movie. Instead, be very kind and prepare yourself to see her (all the damn time) in one of those bing ma yong suit. UGH. No colors. All black black grey grey dark dark dirty dirty. The title says "Jiang Shan Mei Ren" and "Mei Ren" means beauty. Where's the beauty? I don't see any leh~

Direction: World peace! He wants it, she enforced it, everybody dies. Then world peace. I don't wanna be a spoiler, so go watch and you'll know what I'm yakking about.

Overall: Don't watch can? Really, don't watch don't watch... From the bottom of my sincerest, compassionate buddha-liked heart - don't watch. Wait for dvd.

EviLyn commenting on: Sky of Love

Watched this last Sunday (for free) and expectedly, lao niang is cry and cry and cry till my eyes orh bak kak. Damn I look soooo ugly when I cry. @$%#^*&

Plot: Rather cliché I say. The usual: guy gets sick, guy dump girl w/o telling her the truth, girl gets upset, girl gets new and perfect beau, girl realise the truth, girl goes back to guy. Period. The first 1 hour was BORING~ like hell, climax was not until the last ½ and hour or so.

Cast: Erm, none of them I could recognise. Acting was natural enough to not make me roll my eyes. Couple of taiwanese stars look-alike. People like Rainie Yang. Actress was pretty enough, but seemingly too tua jiat (big size) for her role. The leading actor (the one above with bleached hair) look like a metamorphosis of the following dudes:

(Click for larger image)

Hideaki Takizawa from Japan

Julian Yang from Taiwan

Overall: Scores 5 / 10. My assumption is that the director simply focused his attention on the last quarter of the movie and smoked through the first three. Certain scenes were not narrated in detail which I thought were important. Yes I know it's tough to bring all details from 2 novels to a 2 hours movie, but that doesn't give him a reason to haste the movie across. Leaving viewers not having the feeling and approval of the couple's unconditional love for each other. Instead, it looked like the many scenarios were filmed for the sake of filming cuz it was part of the novel. Wait for the DVD if you can. I'd rather watch this at home accompanied by my tissue box.

Tio "fined"

Can't imagine the non procrastinatory me lived to see this day -- fined for being late.

Ironically, I was the one who fully supported this idea to be enforced (since I don't always appear late) in order to avoid latecomers. In fact I was only 5 mins late. Stupid feeder bus. Else lao niang would be on time. TMD. Either way, late is late. Strictly no excuses. Was prepared for the fine nevertheless.

Irked me was that the farmers were in cahoots lor! Called Pwee the moment I reached PS and that girl actually told me non of them reached other then Chewzi and herself. I literally ran to the venue, arrived in forehead of perspiration and a dash of joy. Make me happy only. Never did I expect I was in for a malicious trap. Damn ree-tarrr-ded I was. Truth was, all except me reached before 2pm and hid somewhere else, waiting to ambush upon my arrival. Wicked kids.

"If I say I'm devilish, then they must be demonic" - Lady Jinxed

In reluctance to accept the fact, or rather, shocked to find out I'm in a wicked setup.

And what was the fine? To tab the day's movie. 50 bucks spent for theirs and mine. Honoured my words with grace and passed the cash of 49 dollars (1 dollar tips for Pwee's administrative labours, heehee) to her.

Oh, we went to watch The Leap Years. Unrealistic love story based on Catherine Lim's novella. Starred Wong LiLin, Ananda Matthew etc. and special appearence by Joan Chen. Apparently, for a woman to see and anticipate the man whom she loved at first sight once every four years is almost impossible. That explains why I deemed it as unrealistic. Well, love novels are not called love novels if they are not mawkishly plotted against the real world aren't they?

However, I do like the dark humours here and there. Adds point to the movie. There was this particular scene I liked alot: The narration goes something like ".....my life is pretty much moving, but never moving on." while the cut showed Joan Chen (aged version of Wong LiLin) running on a threadmill. Brilliant way of presenting "moving but not moving on". Of course, the many quotes taken from famous poets adds colors to the movie.

Oh yah, I'm finally back at work after my 1 week's exam break!

Kenichi Matsuyama (broke my heart!)

Just when I was going all gaga over the real and reel L, this had to appear before my eyes:

Kenichi Matsuyama

For those who know who is he, well done. But no credits given. For those who don't -- This is the fella that roled "L" in "Death Note part I / II", and the upcoming "L change the WorLd".

How craptacular...

The infamous "L" I was obesessed over with.

I think Kenichi Matsuyama should put on the "L" makeup before he steps out of his house.

*Huge yawns like lion*

(Drinks 2nd cuppa coffee and it still ain't working. Is the coffee spoilt? How come its not waking me up the least bit?)

I'm sleepy, as usual. Nothing beats a good, quality sleep. Which I haven't had one for a long time. Seldom get to have quality sleeps too. Even on weekends. Slept late, yet wake up early. Worst, Jinxed is a very light sleeper.

So, I have ALLLLL the rights to be tired. :Þ

Phone's ringing mad like some Macdonald's hotline.

"Good morning sir, this is Jinxed speaking. How may I help you with the tortures? Sawing off your fucking brain? Sewing up your lips? Or chopping off you friggin' limbs? Since you are ringing my line insane."

Someone's complaining I haven't been blogging, even thou' its for 2 days only...Diaoz. Well, can't blame the booby woman cuz this proves she's a frequent reader of mine. HAHAHA.

Triple S (Steam, Sauna & Swimming) was cancelled, so it was a stay-home saturday for me. Not entirely stay home thou', just that I did not meet any of my pals. Had my hair done (for CNY, I know, its excuses for me to spend $$), after which bro fetch me for dinner along with mum and his girlfriend at eunos.

And guess what, we had steamboat! Tell me I'm so not supposed to get so much food into my stomach for my diet program. Hecked it anyway, went home and I weighed the same.

The gang said they would cheer me up (since I'm kinda depressed these period) and kept their promises true enough. LMAO yesterday.

Joke of the day:
Nai pa is a mosquitoe-bit swollen prince charming.
(OMG, that was a good one)

After effect was some frozen-like cheeks and many many laugh wrinkles. This was how I looked before setting off to meet them:

Short eh? My hair is still ghastly long despite looking short. Interchangeble I should say. So I own both long and short hair now. Sadly, I didn't have a proper pic of my long hair after cutting this hairdo. Shall go home and cam-whore plenty.

Totally loving this. Covered the remaining gold color at the ends and had it all black instead. Short hair isn't as bad as I thought it would be. This length is ideal enough to not expose my dumpling round face. *Nods with much appraisal*

My short hair was followed by Chewzi's, whom many deemed his hair is way too long. I became his hair consultant for choosing the style and communicating with the hair stylist. Eventually, I was the one learning from the stylist how to style the designed hair of Chewzi. Chewzi: Next time I charge you for that. LV and Gucci products are acceptable.

And why was I the one do so?

(1) Chewzi will DEFINITELY NOT understand what the hair stylist taught him, like how I don't understand their alien IT terms.

(2) Chewzi's official, #1 girlfriend was away, on the phone.

So? I do the job lorrrrrr.

PweePwee: Next time I'll charge you also. For putting your bf under my care. LOL. Shall offset this time since you brought him down to fix my pc.

DFS's having sales. 30% - 70%. Not for all brands thou. But labels like Gucci, Coach and Fendi are in it. Think Dior had its share too. Nothing i fancied. *Sobs*

AVP 2 was nice. A lil' more gore than the first one, which I totally enjoyed. (Jinxed lurves gruesome movies FYI...) But we missed a lil' of the front part I guessed. Sounds crucial from what J had analysed.

Were late cuz' the girls (*ahem* that includes me) were busying shopping and estatically trying to join the retail's member by grabbing some other stuffs. Kelly was the victim eventually. MuaHAHAHA. While the guys stayed out tapping their foot impatiently I guess.

If any of you seen 6 lunatics running in the mil' of orchard, towards Cineleisure, around 3.30pm yesterday, then its us. Rest assured we are not escapes from mental hospital.

Anyway, be prepared for AVP 3. My predict it should release somewhat end of this year.

Again...

Bah! And bye bye my love!

Insanely fruitful weekend

Right, I almost died uploading the pictures. CUZ' I AM A FRIGGIN' PHOTOSHOP IDIOT. Darn.

Remember how I was complaining myself being so free? Blogged consecutively for 2 days? Uh-huh, bad thing to do so. Rest of the day I was punished with loads and loads of work. Even my weekends too.

Not to mention how many appointments I've pushed away in between. Sobs.

Sunday - Jia Yi a.k.a baby niece's 1 month old celebration

She was a darling, prolly because she's a girl. That got me kinda excited upon hearing her arrival. Attending the event was a chore for the tired me. Nevertheless, seeing her made me smitten enough to forget that I had insufficient rest and the dismay from many other kids adressing me as 姑姑. (Aunt, not aunty ok. They are formal addresses, not that I'm old. Hmpf.)

Lil' imp Yong Zhi a.k.a my nephew a.k.a Jia Yi's brother, Mum carrying Jia Yi and Dad. Noticed how the little Jia Yi posed?

Fine! Take all you want! I surrender.

And the cam-whoring goes on and on and on...

Saturday - Movie + Dinner

Dinner at Spegheddies. The medium rare steak was nice and tender, contented me devoured the entire piece. Only if it's bigger portioned. BUT the aglio olio was like waaaay too oily, and so not spicy even it was requested for extra spicy. Overall, me rated it 5/10. Not too good a feast.

Wanted to watch "Game Plan", didn't managed to find the listings anywhere. Changed to "Enchanted" but the seats are like 2 and 3 rows from the screen. Duh, like, why are there so many peeps watching movies? And why must it be the ones I want to watch? LOL. Okay, I'm unreasonable. Ended up watching "Heros" instead. Movies was adapted from a popular japanese serial that was dated back in the...early 2000s? Leading actor Takuya Kimura as Ko'hei Kuryu, a public prosecuter that was shabbily dressed, unlike the typical ones. Little did everyone knows that he possesses a strong sense of justice and his meticulous sensitivity cracked many cases. Ending got me perturbed initially but found out the reason that I missed a tiny part which was critically important! Stupid me. Alright, not gonna be a spoiler to reveal the ending. Comment will stop at I like the way the movie came to an end. Hussah!

Headed to Esplanade last. Had a great gossip session with the girls! And, it was frigging COLD~ thank god I bought my addidas jacket.

Friday - I had my hands on iPhone!

Met Mike after lesson and for a quick coffee session. As promised, he let me played with his iPhone. Mentioned the "Sketches" application was fun and indeed it was! Told him he'll lose his gadget for sure. Cuz' I'll be the theif. *Evil grins*

Cool. Damn cool. I want one~ URGH~
