Tried & Tested

I've got good (and bad) stuffs to share!

Disclaimer: The narrated are based only on Jinx's own experience. Juveniles and greenhorns are not advised to try suka suka-ly without consulting those that should be consulted.

L'Oréal Volume Shocking Exact Brush

Retailing at $23 - $25, don't remember.

Avaliable at all L'Oréal booths, Sasa, and some major drugstores.

Overall: Scores 1 / 10. (the pathetic 1 mark goes to: it is a mascara nevertheless)

Been a rather regular consumer of the latter and results were mostly satisfactory. But...but...
.
.
.
.
.
this thing is horrible. Comprises all the horrors I can ever find in a mascara. The base coat (white one) was so horribly diluted you can merely see ANY effect of volumising nor lengthening even after many many applications.

The exact brush (black one) was even worst. Everyone wants their lashes to look lavish, defined and neat after application right? And I'm sure you all know that, over coating your lashes results them to turn all clumpy and dry that looks like it's going to break anytime, right?

Good. Then I tell you, the latter reflects oppositely of everything I've just described. 2 mandatory coats will leave your lashes looking like some withered plant.

When your lash curler lands on the your vunerable, withered lash - that's it, stuck. Machiam glued to your lash like that. Pain lor when I tweaked the curler!!! Twice I tried and literally hyperventilated. Not to mention the amount of harm I've done to my eyelids and lashes. *Cussing*

Good if you...want your lashes go botak. *More cussing*

Bad if you...use it.

Witch Hydrating Gel

Retailing at less then $20.

Avaliable in major drugstores only.

Overall: Scores 7 / 10. (Balance 3 marks goes to: I can't possible rate this a perfect 10 right? What if I come across something better?? And I need to leave some room for them to improve mah)

This thing is good. My third tube so far. Non-greasy. At least its miraculously effective for combination skin like mine. You see, if a product is oil-based or if its contents are highly nourishing, I'll probably face breakouts at the oily area. After much soughting, came this. I've learnt (and researched) the word "non-comedogenic"and had since remained skeptical about it's compulsary presence in the contents of my moisturiser.

The word "comedogenic" reads clogging of pores; tending to produce or aggravate acne by the form of blackheads. Therefore, the word "non-comedogenic" refers the opposite of the above described. Do take note and ask the consultant or promoter, else go read the contents yourself. Very, very crucial to use non-comedogenic products, (especially moisturiser) if you have oily/combination skin.

*Note: It's scented, people with sensitive nose are not adviced to use. And please hor, if you have sensitive skin to start with, try applying the cream on the back of your hand to see if you are allergic to it first. Else you got red red dots not my pasah...

Secondly, it prevents breakouts, it doesn't heals. Thirdly, if you have read my previous tips, you should know that moisturiser is to be avoided if you are experiencing acne problems. Any moisturiser.

P.S. The packaging of those in Singapore are different from the image shown above. Probable due to different country and its marketing.

Good if you...have dry complexion. Impeccable for combination and oily skins.

Bad if you...are using it on acne or have sensitive sense of smell

Clarins Multi-Active Day Cream-Gel

Retailing at $108. No more then $110.

Avaliable at all Clarin's booth.

Overall: Scores 6 / 10 (Balance 4 marks: Too ex I rather spend on cosmetics)

Consider this a splurge. Pamper yourself if you can afford to. Product is stable and produced similar effect as the Witch's moisturiser. Non-greasy. I might consider Clarins. Only when I turn 25. And since I'm barely 24, why bother to spend extra cash when both products gave the same results?

And why did I get this? Cuz' my Witch went outta stock! I felt so insecure I had to invest in something as good as that. Which explains why I eventually cashed my hard earned for Clarins', at 20% discount (thank gawd! Credit goes to Jeanie and IPS). Otherwise I'll cry.

*Note: Slightly scented. Non-comedogenic as well since the (very chio and nice) promoter mentioned it is water-base. Allergy test is necessary.

P.S. Packaging of image shown is different from Singapore's.

Good if you...have dry complexion and plenty $$ to spare. Impeccable for combination and oily skins.

Bad if you...are using it on acne / have sensitive sense of smell / member of pauperdom

Snow Crystal Dual Foundation (SPF 22/PA+)

Retailing at $55. Comes with concealer.

Avaliable in major departmental stores.

Overall: Depending on what you are expecting.

If you have puuur-fect skin but lack the shine, wants something light and not wayang look-alike, sheer with natural glow. - This is ideal. Along with the concealer that has manificent coverage ability, this babe easily scores a 8 / 10. I got it at $55 around CNY period. Very cheap indeed. Not too sure whether the price has changed.

Well for people who apparently does not own the perfect skin a.k.a mine that has scars left by my previous sinister acnes, this might only be a 5 / 10. Then again, the flaw could be make do with the come along concealer which I initially thought was too thick.
